My original membership to the California Wine Club was for 3 months. 3 fabulous months of having wine delivered right to my desk at work.
Ok, technically it was delivered to the front lobby and a coworker brought it to my desk, but hey, it still made it to me without me having to go shop for it.
And it was delicious.
My latest shipment was from Tulip Hill, a Mount Oso vineyard in Tracy Hills.
I’ve never heard of a Cabepulciano wine before, let alone tried one. It’s a mix of Montepulciano and Cabernet and it is fantastic! It paired really well with a steak dinner.
One of my favorite parts of my California Wine Club membership has been trying things I wouldn’t normally have bought on my own.
Take the Tulip Hill Chardonnay. Normally I run and hide from Chardonnay. I’m just not a big white wine drinker.
On a recent trip up to the cabin, I decided to give it a try. Well, more than a try. I finished nearly the entire bottle in one sitting. It was smooth and light and delicious. It wasn’t very alcohol-heavy, which was nice, because that meant I could sip it throughout the afternoon and evening without getting tipsy.
I can’t wait to try some of the other wines from Tulip Hill.
