Partying Like Little Rockstars (And Learning, Too!)

Pretty much everything little kids touch is a learning experience, and music toys are no exception. LeapFrog recently sent me some of their latest educational Touch Magic toys to try out, so we decided to host an impromptu Rockstar Party with some of Levi’s friends.

MagicTouch Guitar and Keyboard

The kids were really excited to play with them before we even got them out of the package. They called the toys the “rock n roll” game and started dancing around while we were opening them up. I think it’s always a good sign when kids are excited and dancing around even before they get to play.

My favorite feature of the Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitar is the volume control. It was nice to be able to tone it down a little since we were playing indoors. It comes with a removable neck strap, which was one of the first things to go. Even though it was cool for the kids to wear the guitar like a real rockstar, it was a little awkward for them to hold it that way, and of course as soon as they figured out how to get the straps off, they became whips.

Luckily, the Rockin’ Guitar is light and the kids had no trouble holding it up to play after we put the strap away.

I think the kids actually preferred playing with it while sitting down. Sitting down with the guitar also gave them the opportunity to play together and share.

MagicTouch Sharing The Guitar

The kids had to take turns playing with the Touch Magic Learning Bus. It has piano keys and two drum pads so they can play along with the music, along with other educational music games.

MagicTouch Teddy With Keyboard

It’s very easy for the kids to navigate without a lot of adult help, and the keys are large and recognizable. The kids loved playing piano and the song/dance feature. Toddler dancing is too cute!

The Alphabet feature had letter sounds, letter recognition, and word examples. We played the “where is” game and the sound from the game was a fun reward for the children.

Your own kids can Rock To Learn and enter to win $500 through LeapFrog’s video contest. If you’re not good with a video camera, you can STILL enter to win the weekly drawing for Touch Magic toys ($100 value) just by voting for your favorite video in the contest!

So far, Levi hasn’t been very cooperative with me capturing a video, but as soon as I catch him on camera, I’ll be posting it here.

LeapFrog provided the toys you see above for my party. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.

  1. Those do sound like fun preschool toys. I hope they keep liking them! We have a guitar at preschool that we only get out once in a great while so the newness doesn’t wear off. The bus seems like it has more options on it than the guitar. I do love leapfrog toys. They come up with so many new ideas!
