The Minnesota State Fair starts next week, and it’s kind of a big deal around here.
Last year my favorite booth was from Pro Choice Resources. Their staff was fantastic and very respectful of people that disagreed with their programs.
Plus they had some funny shirts, like this one:
There are 3 things I absolutely love about our state fair:
We go every year. We visit the same booths, we eat our same favorite foods, and we always have a great time. Sure, there’s always new stuff to check out and new foods to try, but we still make our regular rounds. And we ALWAYS take home at least two buckets of Sweet Martha’s Cookies.
Speaking of the food, omg, our fair has the BEST food. The two big things are deep-fried stuff and stuff on a stick. There are deep-fried candy bars on a stick, deep-fried alligator on a stick, and even ostrich on a stick. One year when I was in high school, our school had a booth and we gave out poetry on a stick. Fun times.
I was even inspired to do my own crazy deep-fried experiment at home: Deep Fried Kool-Aid. Turns out it’s super dangerous when Kool-aid explodes in the deep fryer, just in case you were wondering.
I’ll admit, I’ve never seen a sheep in spandex, but I have see the rest of them. Plus, there are tons of other bingo cards you can download and print off so you can play with a group. I remember one year we went with a group of friends and raced to see who could get Bingo first. The camel toe was the worst – some things just don’t need to be seen.
