Video: How To Pump While Working Out

I don’t exercise much, but I should. The problem for me is usually time. Between work and school and spending time with my family, I just don’t have a whole lot of time to sneak in a workout. Add in the time I need to keep up with my pumping schedule, and suddenly I need a whole lot more than 24 hours in a day.

Since I’ve used my PumpEase hands-free pumping support for so many other things, I figured I’d give it a try while working. Heck, I’ve pumped while shopping before, so this couldn’t be too hard, right?

Here I am pumping while exercising with my PumpEase. My pump bag is tied over the arm of the treadmill – this is VERY important, since you want to make sure your tubes can not only reach your chest, but also have some slack so they have room to shift once you get going.

Want to pump while working out? Check out this video to see how it’s done:

What do you think? Could you pump while working out?

  1. Wow I am shocked that it stays in place!! I am going to suggest the pump ease to my friends who think they have to be stuck in one place with their hands holding the bottle while they pump.

And I admire you for these videos! Thank you for such great demos!

Thanks so much Annie. I love my PumpEase, and I've been surprised how much I can do with it instead of just sitting behind my pump at home or at the office.

  2. You. are. my. hero.

Seriously, I’m always like “I don’t have time to pump!” but you just encouraged me to pump more often. If you can do it while working out, I can totally do it.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment! You can totally do it. If you need someone to cheer you on, I'm more than happy to :)

  3. I LOVE it! I never thought to tie the back of the Pumpease to make it fit tighter. Great one Jen!

Necessity is the mother of invention, right? I have a new (smaller) one on order, but realized I needed to do something in the meantime so I could keep multi-tasking while pumping.

  4. I admire you for this video, i had no doubt i could do anything while pumping but never thought about working out! Good job and even greater of you showing the world!

Thank you! Since I exclusively pump, making these videos has become a fun way to spice up my pumping time, lol.

  5. Well, I’ll not be having another child, but would have loved something like this when I had my son. And, kudos to you for doing this… I’ll share it with some of my new mommy friends!

  6. wonderful video!! Who would have thought you could workout while pumping!!

Just KUDOS for this. Well done. I only have a single hand pump (my kid was useless with bottles) but I admire pumping mommas something fierce.

  8. wow very impressive! I would never even have thought of doing anything other than sitting to pump but you’ve opened my eyes! I only ever used a hand expressor in my pumping days but everything I’ve heard about pump ease sounds brilliant and this proves it!
    great post!

  9. ROCK. STAR.

  10. Super rockstar! I was so glad I found the PumpEase with my second daughter…I only wish I had with the first!

Thanks Krystyn! I know what you mean. I wish I had my PumpEase from day 1, but I'm glad I found it when I did.

  11. Wow, that’s impressive, I didn’t know there was a device that would stay in place like this!

  12. WOW!!!! Talk about using time wisely!! lol. no one can use ‘pumping’ as an excuse not to exercise anymore…or i’m sending them to this post! :p
