Getting’ Skinny With Skinnygirl Daily

Even though I’m back at the gym, I wanted to do a little something extra to help boost my weight loss. Earlier this year, Skinnygirl launched their Skinny For Summer Pack, which includes a Cleanse & Restore drink mix and Weight Management & Energy capsules, plus a cool little shaker bottle.

About the Cleanse & Restore drink mix:

Skinnygirl Daily Cleanse & Restore is a moderate daily cleanse designed to gradually rid your body of toxins & replace it with essential nutrients & greens. It floods your body with 15 nutrient-dense, high quality cleansing herbs, promotes a healthy immune system with 4 billion probiotic-rich cells, works to increase regularity with 3 grams of fiber, and improves intestinal balance with 5 digestive enzymes.

I’ll be honest – the daily cleanse drink tastes terrible. And it’s green, so it looks kinda gross. So instead of mixing mine with water, I mix mine with lemonade. Much tastier, even though it does add a little extra sugar from the lemonade. I drank mine in the morning to wash down the weight management capsules.

As far as cleansing goes, this one is really gentle. I felt a difference when I was taking it and when I wasn’t, mostly in the regularity of my, um, bathroom trips. I’m not normally a “daily” person, but after a few days using the Skinnygirl cleanse and restore, I realized I was going on a daily basis.

About the Weight Management & Energy capsules:

Skinnygirl Daily Weight Management & Energy combines a synergistic blend of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid), a naturally occurring fatty acid found in meat and dairy products, and flaxseed oil, a healthy fat high in omega-3s. Studies suggest these healthy fats increase the efficiency in which our body burns fat. Unfortunately, with today’s processed meats and dairy, the amount of CLA and omega-3s in our diets is declining. The added B12, known for increasing energy levels, and the grapefruit oil which stimulates detoxification, offer a unique solution to weight management along with regular exercise and a healthy, balanced diet.

The Weight Management & Energy capsules have been known to replace my morning coffee lately. They don’t give me the jolt that caffeine does, but they do help keep me going through morning meetings at the office. I really like that they come in gel capsules, which you don’t really taste. I’ve tried other brands that come in regular pill form, but hated those because they smelled bad and tasted terrible. With the Skinnygirl ones, there’s no bad taste and no bad odor.

The Skinnygirl Skinny For Summer pack is valued at $92, but is currently on sale for $59.99. That’s over a 30% discount.

Have you ever tried a cleanse? What did you think?

I received a sample of the product mentioned above courtesy of Skinnygirl. All opinions are my own.

    Looks great!

  17. I completely agree about other capsules… they usually smell atrocious! So as if it isn’t hard enough to force them down your throat, before you even get to the part of popping it in your mouth, you have to make it past opening the bottle! I’m a hardcore coffee fiend myself, so it’s nice to hear that The Weight Management & Energy capsules can at least get you through. I think I may be interested… and really, how can you go wrong for 30% off?! Thanks for the info! <3

  18. Eliza-Ligia says:

Yes, I have. If at some point you don’t have the money or want a cheap and fast way to cleanse, what I usually try to incorporate on a regular basis or whenever I’m feeling full is:

    1) psyllium husk (and/or other types of fiber), which is really good. Take like 1-2 spoons/day (better at night)
    2) I would also get some laxative/s the night before
    3) Green tea or coffee during the day; best time is first thing in the morning. What I actually do is a super mix of green tea, ginko biloba, ginseng with loads of citrus or butter coffee as my morning drink
    4) First thing in the morning, upon awakening, get used to drinking a cup of water. If it’s warm and/or it’s got honey or balsamic vinegar in it it’s even better. If you want even better results, go for about 4 servings of water first thing in the morning. The point is to get stuff going and take it all out.
    5) On your cleanse day, do a fast, having only the things noted above. You could keep it for as long as you like. Or, also good, but obviously less efficient, only rely on fruits and vegetables. The downside is that you will get bloated from fruits and food generally. So on a scale from awesome to good for a day cleansing, I’d go for:
Fast > Juice Fast > Raw Fruits/Veggies, with all the tips above. You could go for days like this. After at least one day, you’ll be visibly less bloated and start taking the toxins and garbage out.

  19. Thanks for being so honest about the taste and um, effects. I think it’s worth trying and love the idea of mixing it with lemonade.
