Celebrating One Year Of The Breastfeeding Blog Hop

We did it folks! Today marks the 52nd week of the Breastfeeding Blog Hop. One full year. Wow.

This past year has marked some amazing milestones. Levi and I celebrated one year of exclusively pumping. I figured out that it’s difficult to pump while rolling around on Heelys, but not too difficult to do it while mowing the lawn.

My eyes have been opened on the whole nursing in public front. I admit, I used to be pro-cover. Now I’m pro-whatever-makes-mom-and-baby-comfortable.

I’ve met many amazing moms through this weekly hop and am honored that they have shared their breastfeeding experiences with me.

Here are just a few of the highlights from this past year.

Obviously there are many, many, MANY more great posts that have been linked up over the last 12 months. You can view them all (organized by topic) on the Breastfeeding Blog Hop Archive Page.

I think my personal favorite is a recent one from A Breezy Life – Oh The Places You’ll Nurse!

Although I won’t be hosting the hop anymore here on Life With Levi, I hope I continue to see everyone link up and share their breastfeeding stories, past AND present, over at The Slacker Mom.

Erin will be announcing next week’s topic soon, so stay tuned – the Breastfeeding Blog Hop torch has been passed and is still going strong!

Thank you for compiling this great list, the archive, and for hosting this blog hop. I’ve only been part of it for a relatively short while, but I’ve loved reading about all the different aspects of breastfeeding, and I love how honest all the participants have been. What a great resource for breastfeeding moms!

  2. Jen, I’m so impressed by your dedication and humor throughout the past year. I don’t even know you, but consider you a friend and an inspiration. I can’t wait to link up tonight with my post!

  3. Aw, thank you so much for the mention! We are taking off this week from blogging for a much needed holiday break, but we have really enjoyed joining in each week with the blog hop. It’s been so neat seeing so many moms perspectives on so many different breastfeeding topics! Thank you so much for all the hard work you’ve put in to it to make it a success!

  4. Congratulations on those amazing milestones!

You have so much to be proud of! I am so glad I got to meet you at BlogHer’11 and make a positive difference in the local breastfeeding community. Being in the same room as other breastfeeding Moms, sharing information, and pumping together was like a live blog hop!

Your dedication to hosting the weekly blog hop is MUCH appreciated. I think the best thing about it is that Moms looking for breastfeeding answers can find them any time of day or night! As a seasoned veteran nursing her third breastfeeding child, I still learn something new every week from the blog hop.

    Thank you so much Jen!

  5. Jen,

Thank you so much for putting this blog hop together. It has been such a blessing to us over the past year. I didn’t get around to writing a post this week, but I did read everyone’s linked up articles. It is amazing to see all of the moms – and babies – that the blog hop has impacted. You should be so very proud of yourself! Good job – and thank you!

  6. I think everyone just about covered it. You did an amazing thing putting this together. I hope that I can keep it together and build upon what you have done here. Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’m glad to have met you here (and in real life!).

    • You rock Erin! You know you're the first person I saw NIP like it was no big deal (when we took the boys to the Maple Maze). I STILL admire you for that and for opening my eyes.

  7. Yay!
    Thanks for the shout out!

Congratulations on one-year and passing the torch! (Although I was a sporadic linker – I really did enjoy reading tales of other breastfeeding moms!)

  8. Thank you for putting this together! I hadn’t seen this until today and I am enjoying reading through them now. I look forward to more from The Slacker Mom.

Congrats on making it 1 year pumping!

I’ve never know about this but I’m glad I found it!! A little late but it’s nice to go back to read these things. I may need to ask some of you some questions because my milk supply has been sooo low. I’m running dry and my son is only 5 months old! I’m going to to try the lactation cookies!

  10. Thank you for making this list. I bf my first son until he self weaned at 15months and now am currently bfing my 7month old. I am enjoying getting a refresher and I am even learning new things. Thank you so much for sharing and helping everyone who is who is needing help with a variety of problems. Thank you

  11. Thank you for doing this! I love to read as many of these as I can—-I could become a full-time blog reader! I am also pro-whatever-it-takes. A very SLOW movement up north! Although I know 5-10 other BFing moms that will do whatever it takes & accommodate themselves and baby b4 the public. 🙂
