Any Johnny Cash fans in the house?
Johnny Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, has just written a book called House of Cash: The Legacies of My Father, Johnny Cash - and I do believe this is a book Cash fans are going to want to get their hands on!
More than a typical “tell all” style biography, House of Cash tells the story of Johnny Cash through the eyes of his son, John. The book paints a softer picture of Cash than you might be used to, focusing on the love he had for his family and his generous and forgiving spirit.
The book is packed with John Carter Cash’s memories of his father, from when he performed onstage with his famous parents as a young boy to when he cleaned out their office after they had both passed away and everything in between.
But this book is more than a story about Johnny Cash.
It’s a beautiful tribute to a man who clearly loved his family and his wife and had a gift for music. And it’s something collectors will want to have.
The book is full of artifacts from Johnny Cash’s life. There’s a replica of his diploma and copies of love letters to his wife, June. One page has a pocket full of reprints of recipes from the Cash household, and another page is full of lyrics hand-written by Johnny Cash, himself.
The book is beautiful. The stories are vibrant and from the heart, the pages full of never-before-seen pictures and replicas of Johnny Cash artifacts.
This book is perfect for the coffee table (or anywhere else that would put it on display, for that matter). It’s that pretty, and so much fun to look through.
House of Cash: The Legacies of My Father, Johnny Cash is available on Amazon.
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to review. All opinions, however, are 100% my own.
