Today’s diaper is the Sprout Change one size diaper from The Willow Store.
It looks totally innocent, right? Like a basic diaper cover with a few snaps.
Don’t be fooled – this is easily the most customizable diaper I’ve ever seen.
See, hidden in those front tabs is something SUPER cool – two sets of adjustable elastic.
All you do is unsnap the middle snap on the tab and pull out the elastic. You unbutton and rebutton to adjust.
What I love about this is that it allows you to truly customize the fit on your child. Thick waist and skinny thighs? You can adjust for that. Skinny all over? You can adjust for that, too.
Then it’s just two quick snaps, and you have a great fit!
Oh yeah, as an added bonus, the shell is also reversible. So you get two colors from one diaper.
The Dirty Details:
Day Use: 5 Bums Up
Overnight Use: 3 Bums Up
Ease of Use: 4 Bums Up
Quality: 5 Bums Up
Overall: 4 Bums Up
Daytime Use:
The Sprout Change diaper is a shell and soaker that makes wet diapers a cinch for changes – just swap out the soaker for a new one and reuse the shell. It does take a while to get the elastic adjusted right for both the waist and legs – I recommend having someone else help the first time so they can entertain your baby while you make the necessary fit adjustments.
Once you have that initial adjustment done, though, diaper changes are a breeze. I love that I only have two snaps to button – I don’t have to worry about which snap settings to use, either, since the elastic is already adjusted to custom fit Levi. Daycare thought this was a really cool feature, too.
Overnight Use:
The Sprout Change only got 3 Bums Up from me for overnight use. You can definitely fit an extra booster in for nighttime use, but only if you readjust the elastic so you still get a good fit, which made this too much of a pain for us to use overnight.
If your child only needs one soaker at night, though, it should work just fine. There are two layers of PUL, which helps prevent leaks.
Ease of Use:
I was torn on the rating for this. I think this diaper is one of the easiest I have to use. Like I mentioned before – just two snaps and you’re done. You don’t even have to guess at snap settings.
But I factored in the initial elastic adjustment – it does take some time and is easier to do with two people, so overall, I gave this 4 Bums Up for ease of use.
Quality:
No questions here on quality – 5 Bums Up.
Overall
The Sprout Change one size diaper is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for an easy-to-use, customizable fit diaper. It’s super trim on Levi, and we love having it as part of our stash.
I will put one disclaimer here: This review is based on only having one child in cloth diapers. If you have two kids in cloth and are looking to use the diaper on both of them, that can be a bit more difficult since the diaper’s fit would be custom to only one of the kids, unless you want to adjust it each time, which probably isn’t a very time-efficient idea. Instead, you could use different colors for each child so you know which are adjusted to each of them.
You can purchase the Sprout Change StayDry Super Saver Starter Kit (one shell & three inserts) from The Willow Store for $30.75. Additional shells and inserts are also available, as well as lots of other cloth diapering accessories.

I am a sucker for change so I love that it’s reversible and so customizable in the fit.
wow- what a great review- and I love custom fit diapers! Looks like one we would try !
Love that this diaper is so customizable! And the reversible colors just adds another perk!
I love how it’s so customizable!! It’s amazing!!
i love that they are reversible. That is awesome. It is like 2 diaper in one!!
I’d love to have a couple of these for my mom. She has a hard time getting a good fit with our snap diapers…and we don’t use hook and loop.
These look awesome! Thank you for the review.
I love the inner elastic. I am assuming it could easily be replaced with new elastic to make these diapers last even longer.
I confess that I initially thought this was just a simple boring cover, I had no idea it had adjustable elastic. And I love that the cover is reversible for two different colors!
I have been wanting to try these for a long time. I love the reversible cover, I haven’t seen another cloth diaper with that feature. I’ve never tried adjustable elastic but I think it would be great once you get the initial fit down.
